Howdy. I’m Stephanie Scarborough.
I write stuff . . . mostly fiction. I used to write poetry, but not anymore.
My first novel was completed when I was thirteen. It was about a teenage witch and her white-trash, simpleton fiance. It was as horrible as it sounds.
In college, I went through a poetry phase. I’m sure if you Google my name and “poetry” you’ll find plenty of my old work (we’re talking 2000 – 2003) to amuse yourself with.
After finishing college and stagnating as a writer, I joined a writer’s group in 2005, and things have been rainbows and unicorns ever since . . . Maybe I’m exaggerating, but things did get better.
My work has turned up in a few places in print and on the web such as CROQ Zine, Planet Relish, Every Day Fiction, The Harrow, Bewildering Stories, and some other places you can find on the Publications page. I participated in the 3-Day Novel Contest and NaNo last year, and I plan on participating in both again this year.
I used to be a poet back when I was in college, and I religiously submitted envelopes stuffed full of poetic goodness to zines and journals on a weekly basis. At the tender age of 19, I won RejectionCollection.com’s 2001 RejectionCollector of the Year award. You can read all about it here. Hmm, does that make me an award-winning author? Probably not.
I live in bungalow-filled neighborhood Texas with my two feline overlords, Rio and Clementine. I watch way too many bad movies, and enjoy listening to audio fiction from Drabblecast and Escape Pod.

Just dropped by to say I enjoyed “Why Pews Don’t Come with Pistols” in EDF. While the set-up is a movie cliche, I think you’ve given it an insightful psychological twist. Keep up the good work.
