Since this has been my Summer O’ Rejections and I haven’t had too many new stories ideas these last few weeks, I’ve been trying to get as many of my finished stories as possible out there. I have about double my usual number of pending submissions right now, so yay! I figure the more stuff I have hanging out there, the bigger chance I have to get at least one or two acceptances.
Posting has been super light lately because I have zero internet access at home. I cancelled my Charter service because I was tired of getting randomly disconnected and getting charged for stuff I wasn’t getting. Fun! I have to say, I thought not having internet access at home would be cool. I figured I’d just write and write and write and write. But no. We always find a way to distract ourselves, be it with teh intarwebs, video games, TV, clipping out toenail, watching paint dry. My distraction? Catching up on seasons 6 through 8 of Charmed.
My lack of internet access has also caused me to fall behind on my audio fiction consumption, but I do manage to work a few in at work. Two of my recent favorites are “Among the Moabites” by Michael Hartford over at Pseudopod and “Witchcraft in the Harem by Aliya Whiteley over at The Drabblecast, which is probably my favorite audio fiction zine. Audio fiction’s a way more constructive way to distract yourself than watching hour upon hour of Charmed, so I highly recommend you check these stories out.

Cool. Thanks for the tips. I’ve never tried an audiobook, but I think I will give it a go. And good luck with the submissions. I’ve never tried to get my stories published but I’m about to start on that adventure too. Ugh. Wish me luck.

Hello, Wellum!
Thanks! And good luck to you on your fiction submission adventure! It can be a little rough at first, but if you stick with it, it’ll pay off.
I’m all about audio fiction. Other good sites are escapepod.org and podcastle.org.

LOL! Most things are more worthwhile than Charmed. But, for some reason that show can be very addicting!
Good luck on all the submissions!

Thanks!
Yeah, even season 8, which isn’t even all that great, has got me absorbed. Perhaps I should just throw my TV out the window.
