Whoa? Where did I go? Well, a combination of overtime at work, a trip to Mexico and diving head long into NaNoWriMo kept me away. But check this out . . .

That’s right! I just reached the 50K mark on my NaNo novel! I probably won’t be finished with it until I reach 65 or 70K, so I’m going to keep plugging away at 1,000 words per day until it’s done.
This is my first year to win NaNo. I gave it a go last year, but stalled at 28K due to poor planning (and moving into a new apartment that month didn’t help). The really cool thing is that even at this late date, I’m still coming up with more and more ideas for this novel. I think it’s just going to get better and better. I think NaNoWriMo and the 3-Day Novel contest are just about the only way to write a novel. It keeps you submerged in your story and forces you to look it in the eye every day and think of something new. There’s no time for writer’s block. Ha! I laugh in the face of writer’s block, and it runs away, with its tail between its legs!
And as much fun as it was (in a sick, morbid way) I’m glad that NaNo’s finally over.

I have officially reached 20,000 words on my NaNo novel! Oh, yes! I’m currently writing at Panera because there are too many distracts at the ol’ apartment (two of which would be my adorable kitty cats). My goal is to make it to 21,000 by the end of the day. I’d probably already be there, but I had to go into work for 6 hours, thus delaying my NaNo time.

I kicked some major word count arse today! I’m at 19,200 words, almost 3,000 words above the minimum word count for today (I think). Sweet! I’m so close to 20,000 I can taste it (and it tastes so good!). And I even squeezed in some time to take pictures with my new Holga camera–the crappiest camera money can buy, but it takes some really interesting pictures. Can’t wait to get the film developed and see how they turn out. I also got a lot of walking in in the process. Yay for exercise!
That’s all for now. Maybe I’ll hit a benchmark 20,000 words by the end of the night!

I’m currently at 11,702 words on my NaNo novel - 1,702 words above the daily minimum, and I’m not done writing yet (my goal for today is 12,000). The story has been easy-peasy thus far - it just seems to flow naturally, though it’s more plot-centric that most of my writing. I think that tends to happen when writing under pressure (it happened on my 3-Day Novel) - something has to go out the window. There’s character development there, but I already know I will need to go back later and flesh out some of the characters at the beginning. But I’m not worrying about that right now. Right now it’s all about the word count, baby!

I’m up to 8,200 words on the NaNo novel. My goal was to make it to 7,500 today, so I am ahead of myself. Awesome! I’m still not following my outline I worked so hard on, but it’s all for the better! I may write more before the day is up, or I may just go to bed.
Oh, and I’m lovin’ the time change.

Well, I’m at 5,000 words, and with daylight savings time, I’m hoping to crack 6,000 by the end of the day. Time will tell! I wrote an outline, but I’ve pretty much done everything but follow it so far.
